Giving Audio Books a try. HELP ME?

I miss reading. Books. Books. Books. I realized it's hard to juggle reading with college, academic readings, and papers. Sure I get to read sometimes ( like 2x since 2013 started! *sob.sob*), but I really miss reading so I'm going to try something NEW...to me. Bahaha.

*drumroll*

Audio books! I haven't tried this, but I'm up for the challenge. :D I'm also not sure how it goes. Does the narrator changes voice to match the characters? Does the narrator read the lines with feelings? Are there many narrators? Wheeew. I really have no idea about audio books. I NEED YOUR HELP!

Can you suggest the best audio book you've ever read? BEST is defined as:

  1. Compelling narrator
  2. 5/5 plot
  3. YOUR FAVORITE
Thanks everyone! :') God bless you all! :)

Publisher: Harper Collins
Type: Series (Everneath #2)
Bookshelves: YA Books

Blurb:

Nikki Beckett could only watch as her boyfriend, Jack, sacrificed himself to save her, taking her place in the Tunnels of the Everneath for eternity — a debt that should’ve been hers. She’s living a borrowed life, and she doesn’t know what to do with the guilt. And every night Jack appears in her dreams, lost and confused and wasting away.

Desperate for answers, Nikki turns to Cole, the immortal bad boy who wants to make her his queen — and the one person least likely to help. But his heart has been touched by everything about Nikki, and he agrees to assist her in the only way he can: by taking her to the Everneath himself.

Nikki and Cole descend into the Everneath, only to discover that their journey will be more difficult than they’d anticipated — and more deadly. But Nikki vows to stop at nothing to save Jack — even if it means making an incredible sacrifice of her own.

In this enthralling sequel to Everneath, Brodi Ashton tests the bonds of destiny and explores the lengths we’ll go to for the ones we love.

Thoughts! :'>

It's pure awesomeness!!! ^___________^ I haven't read Everneath, but it looks really good. So I guess, Everbound is also an awesome read. :) Anyone who read it? :)

“Emily Jenkins, corrupting young men. What would people say?” He tutted at me and as if by magic, I spotted an elderly lady walking along the pavement, scrunching up her nose to stare at us. – Surprise Visitor (The Darkness Through the Light Series)

When I thought I might make her lips too swollen from my rough need of her, I pulled away. Those half-open dark eyes could’ve pulled me into Hell, and I would’ve gladly followed with a stupid smile on my face. - Jeremy’s Heart (Saga of the Setti)

Even when you know it’s the right thing to do, running away from home is never easy. They’re not good people. I can’t stay here anymore. – The Runaway-Tawni’s Story (The Dwellers Saga)

He smiled and my heart melted. One look like that and I second guessed every decision I made. – Rift (The Syrenka Series)

I had to entertain myself somehow, and being around these ridiculous humans made me homesick for a land I left centuries ago. – Human Resources (The Lelia Marx Novels)

This too shall pass. I mentally repeated it over and over, hoping Nathaniel’s injury wasn’t as bad as my crumbling heart made it out to be. – The Sound of Love (The Kindrily Series)

Perhaps the hardest thing to accept about one’s fate is that it can take years to unfold. But when it does, it’s worth every second, every breath, and every dream. – Fate (Annabelle’s Story)

 What can I say?

You all know how I sincerely love and enjoy this series. I love the action, fast-paced plot, the characters, the twists, David's witty writing style, the setting, the idea. Pretty much everything. The Moon Dwellers caught me at page 50. The Star Dwellers at page 10. And I just have to be honest, but The Sun Dwellers--ah, yes, yes--the Sun Dwellers is just a little bit too fast, yet too slow for me. Haha! Sorry about that, but I can't find the right word for it.

I guess it's too fast because it left me off with a gazillion questions in mind. Questions like why put Sinus, Linew, and Bren? What happened to the war (aside from the bonus story)? Why kill Mom (guess whose Mom) when all the while we expected her to be alive and kicking? Nevertheless these are just trivial questions. :) It didn't make the series anything less than fantastic! Oh, David. You're a natural comic. :)

On with the third book, the Sun Dwellers brought its readers into a deeper intimacy with our main characters: Adele, Tristan, Roc, Tawni, Trevor, and Ram. Essential info will be revealed about them. Yeah I know you've memorized every detail about them in Books 1 & 2, but hold that thought because you might miss a quarter of your life if you won't read this! *just saying*

Anyway, the plot picks right where The Star Dwellers ended. Our six leading dwellers are on their way to the Sun Realm to uhmm...kill President Nailin. On their way, *tiny spoiler #1* Adele is having second thoughts about TRISTAN! Ugh. I can't believe she's doubting him! Hmp. When they reach the Sun Realm, they're in for a mega-awesome cool realm party! Yup, that's right. It means that everyone will be out on the road dancing, singing, jamming, partying! And it also means that it'll be harder for them to hide. T.T

Eventually they'll reach the president's palace, but it doesn't end there. The story's just beginning to unfold. Oh yes, SECRETS and SECRETS and lots of SECRETS will be revealed! And of course, people--the ones we love!!!--will die. :( So sad, but I bet you don't want to be left behind, do you? X

Without further ado, I present to you.... *drumroll
THE SUN DWELLERS by David Estes!

P.S. It has a fourth book!!!! All this time I thought it was a trilogy!!! David better not be serious about November 2013, though. I'll go crazy!!!! T.T

Whee. Enjoy reading! ;)

Teaser Excerpt

Tristan’s shaking his head, his eyes closed. I can tell his teeth are clamped tightly together beneath his pursed lips. He’s worried about me, which I feel bad about, but I know we’ve made the right decision. He and Tawni will be safe with Trevor, and Roc and I can look after each other. I know I was a bit cold to him, but that I can make up for.
I move in close, hug him around the chest, rest my cheek on his shoulder. “We’ll be fine,” I whisper.
He opens his fathomless blue eyes. Says, “I don’t want to lose you.” I lean into his honest lips, kissing him longer and deeper than I ever have before.
“You won’t,” I murmur when we pull away.
