Movie Review: 3 Idiots

3 Idiots

Hi guys! Have you watched 3 Idiots? :D If not, boy you're missing a lot! :)

I know I know. It's mid-semester and for some, school has just started, but if you want to laugh really really hard, shed some tears, and be inspired for school, pay a visit to the nearest video store and grab a copy of 3 Idiots! :'>

This highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time in India was directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film was adapted from the debut novel of Chetan Bhagat entitled, Five Point Someone – What not to do at IIT!

The movie follows the lives of two college friends, Farhan and Raju, who are in search of their best college buddy, Racho, who disappeared after their graduation at the Imperial College of Engineering (ICT). The three didn't only share a room at their residential college dorm for four years, but also shared the best and worst days of their lives. 

Racho is a machine-genius. He aces every engineering exam while Farhan and Raju get the lowest of scores. But grades are merely numbers; they don't account for the true capacity of the person. Racho emphasizes this to his best friends whenever they lose hope. But more than encouragement, Racho helps his two best friends to get out of their chained selves and reach for their dreams. His friend Farhan knows that engineering was never for him, but he's trapped in ICT because of his father. His father won't let him pursue his passion for photography. Raju, on the other hand, loves engineering, but he's too scared to face tomorrow because of the heavy responsibility entrusted to him. His father is sick and her sister can't marry because they can't pay the dowry. While faced with this whirlpool of problems, Rancho encourages his friends to cast their fears away and to seize their destiny. 

Rancho grows closer to Pia, the daughter of ICT's director. And together, they help their circle of friends to move about their trouble-filled lives. :))

I highly recommend this movie to everyone! :)) Oh, don't forget to find the copy with English subtitle. Heehee! Just reminding! :"> And if you have the copy in your hands, prepare yourself for two hours of a genuine laugh-trip and tearjerker movie!!! :">

Major Lessons Learned

1. Don't chase success. Do your best and success will chase after you!

Don't put "success" as your end goal. Just do everything with passion and determination, and you'll go a long way. You'll just be surprised for whatever opportunity that awaits you. :)

2. Suicide doesn't solve things. Evaluate yourself and be brave to hold on and soar higher!

Okay. Don't even think about it. It's a sure way to eternal damnation. TSK. Raju's experience can prove that. It won't solve your problems. If you think you're hopeless, think twice. There's an eternal supply of hope. You just have to know where to find it. You don't even have to take a step farther. Just look up and you'll find it. God never runs out of hope. 

Also, check yourself. You might be nurturing a negative attitude in your heart. Raju realizes that after his coma. He learns that he locked himself up in fear. And fear limits him to reach for his dreams.

3. Find "true" friends and you'll never be alone.

This is true. <3 But the keyword here is "true." It's easy to find many friends, but such a journey to find true ones. You're more than blessed if you find "true" friends.
